Programme Highlights
The recent cases provide useful guidance of the obligations and liabilities of Construction Professionals in relation to design, including the "Fit for Purpose" obligation and the duty to advise on costs between different parties. This seminar intends to shed light on the increasing importance of the engineer's role in design in light of the latest case law and attempts to impart practical tips that may be of use to an engineer when advising on construction projects.
Speakers
Mr. Dennis Wong is a Partner in Clyde & Co's Hong Kong and China Construction Group. He is an arbitration and litigation lawyer. He specialises on construction related disputes. Dennis has done many domestic arbitrations in Hong Kong concerning disputes arising from civil engineering, piling and building projects. Dennis advises Government, Employer, Contractors, Engineers and a variety of other clients in Hong Kong, Macau and China. He also has experience in international arbitration such as ICC arbitration concerning project in Azerbaijan.
Ms. Vivian Wong is a Senior Associate in Clyde & Co's Hong Kong and China Construction Group. She specializes on contentious matters (arbitration/ litigation) including cross-border disputes and construction related disputes. She has experience in arbitrations in Hong Kong concerning disputes arising from major civil engineering project and advises Government, Employer, Contractors and a variety of other clients in Hong Kong and Chin
