The upcoming Metrology Symposium is scheduled to be held on 11 January 2019. This symposium aims to promote the approval of the revised SI units by the General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM), with technical talks in the theme of "The New SI for a Smarter World". The foundation of measurements, the SI will have a major revision in 2019. Four out of seven base units of the SI will be redefined based on the fundamental constants, which remove the current limitations imposed by the use of artefact standards. The change would have significant impacts and fuel further development of the modern world.
