Programme Highlights

Lifts and escalators are essential daily commute machineries in modern cities. They utilize a lot of Control, Automation and Instrumentation (CAI) engineering knowledge for ensuring their safe operations as well as implementing advance ride comfort and convenient features. In this seminar, two experienced lift and escalator engineers will share their experiences in applying and becoming MHKIE (CAI) from lift and escalator new installation and maintenance perspectives. In addition, Chairman of CAI Discipline Advisory Panel will also introduce difference routes in applying MHKIE (CAI).

Speaker

Ir Alain TANG is a professional with 30+ years experiences in Operation and Maintenance, Project Management and Energy Saving in Facilities for Oil and Gas industry, Corporate Headquarter, Hospitality Industry and public utilities undertaking. Further to his wealth of experiences in engineering role across different industries, Alain is now working in industrial sectors on forklift applications and airport specialized systems regarding control and automation. In addition to his industry experiences, he is currently the Chairman of Control, Automation and Instrumentation Discipline Advisory Panel and also served the position of Council Member (2015 – 17) in HKIE. He has served CA Division in the HKIE for more than 20 years. 

Ir Johnny WONG is a registered lift and escalator engineer and a Registered Professional Engineer (R.P.E.). He is a member of numerous international professional institutes including IET, IMechE and HKIE. Having over 20 years of working experience in the lift industry, Johnny is now voluntarily participating as a member of Technical Sub-committee of Lift and Escalator Contractor Association (LECA) to serve the industry as well as acting as a managerial role in the field of maintenance, periodic examination, lift modernization of a leading lift and escalator company in day time. 

Ir David CHAN is a registered lift and escalator engineer and also a chartered engineer, RPE as well as a member of numerous professional institutes including IaEE, IET, IMechE and HKIE. Having over 20 years of working experience in the lift industry, David is now participating as Technical Sub-committee Chairman of Lift and Escalator Contractor Association (LECA) and serving as member in numeral working groups for latest EN81-20/50 and EN115 adoption in HK composing experts from EMSD, LECA, Pacific Asia Lift and Escalator Association (PALEA) and International Association of Elevator Engineers (IaEE).
