Programme Highlights
Quality Lift Service Recognition Scheme (QLSRS) was initiated by Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) aiming to encourage the responsible persons (RPs) for lifts to enhance the safety level, reliability and comfortability of existing lifts through modernisation measures. Recognition will be given to RPs for lifts who meet the criteria set by the Scheme as encouragement. In order to get the recognition, Independent Professional Assessors (IPA) are employed to assess the level of modernization, records of lift operations and performance of RPs in managing lift services.
In this seminar, speaker from EMSD will cover key regulatory requirements to lift RPs, importance of lift modernisation and present the details of the QLSRS. Interested participants can opt for the 30 minutes assessment at the end of the seminar to become an IPA under the QLSRS.
Speaker Mr. James Lau, E&M Engineer, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, HKSAR Mr. Lau graduated from Newcastle University, UK and joined EMSD since 2016. He had diversified engineering experiences in machine industry, precision engineering and EV infrastructure development. Currently, he specializes in regulatory affairs and promotion of lift and escalator modernisation as a regulator in EMSD.
