Intelligent metering stands as a pivotal component in the infrastructure of smart cities. The Water Supplies Department (WSD) has been actively engaged in the development of the Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) System.
This seminar aims to shed light on the conventional metering requirements set by the WSD and the limitations associated with them. Additionally, it will provide an insightful overview of the smart metering system currently being implemented by the WSD. The session will cover various aspects including different types of meters, meter accuracy, outstation components, wireless communication technologies such as LoRaWAN and NB-IoT, M-Bus wiring, walk-by meter reading techniques, and relevant case studies.
