Technical Seminar: Digitalisation of Water Supply Services

Programme Highlights

The Water Supplies Department of HKSAR Government (“WSD”) serves the public wholeheartedly and embarks on digitalised and innovative water era towards cost-effective operation and maintenance, quality customer services and tremendous convenience to the citizens and businesses. 

Amid escalating social demands and rapid development of our city and innovative technology together with the inherent issues of aged infrastructure, the WSD is establishing a strategic plan for the implementation of intelligent waterworks in Hong Kong, equipping comprehensive online monitoring and improving the management of the water supply system, while ensuring the safe and uninterrupted operation of the waterworks facilities. The WSD is also building the Cloud Data Centre to develop and exploit data resources by integrating the latest technology with the water supply industry. Through an intelligent control system with AI-powered data-driven decision making and customer services, the WSD will assure water safety, provide quality services and continue a reliable water supply.

Speaker

Ir Daniel CHOW (Senior Engineer, Water Supplies Department, HKSAR) 

Ir Daniel CHOW received his advanced study in digital transformation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his academic qualifications in urban analytics, infrastructure project management, civil and environment engineerings from the University of Hong Kong. With his public service experience and multi-discipline qualification, he has been contributing in housing supply policy formulation and development, multi-pronged initiatives in tackling road traffic congestion in central business districts, smart mobility and digitalisation of water supply systems in the Civil Engineering and Development Department, Transport Department and Water Supplies Department of HKSAR Government.

This seminar is free of charge but prior registration is required.
